KYALAMI, MIDRAND, GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA, Sept. 5, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Recently, a Learner Support Empowerment Seminar for Educators was held at Kyalami Castle with over 180 teachers of all levels , university professors and representatives of the Ministry of Education. Seeking solutions to help their learners overcome barriers to learning, educators have attended the popular workshop by the hundreds since the start of the year.

The workshop began with a close inspection of “learner support” and how, if done correctly, can actually boost our education system by over 54%. Many educators shared their personal experiences of the failing education system in South Africa and how they feel they really want to help their learners but don’t know how to do so beyond formal content provision.

The popular workshop led free by Scientology Volunteer Ministers focuses primarily on addressing barriers to learning, but also extensively covers other social issues such as conflict resolution, addiction, communication, etc

The free skills program called “Tools for Life” is broken down into 19 practical modules that address many of the challenges faced in the classroom and in life. Sandile Hlayisi, who is the program director for this workshop, talked about the practicality of these soft skills and their impact. In his words, these modules allow any individual to acquire the knowledge necessary to change any condition they face in life.

Mr. David Khumalo, who runs an e-learning platform, expressed his joy over the seminar and said, “The Tools for Life program is exactly what everyone needs. Such an innovative concept! Scientology Volunteer Ministers have actually managed to set up a completely self-contained online learning system that is also interactive. I am absolutely blown away. But not only that, you also provide tools that no one else has but are indispensable. It is nothing less than revolutionary.

The Gauteng Department of Education representative, who was also impressed with the content, said: “We have received glowing reports at district level from teachers and other education specialists across district who attended your workshop. I must say that the whole day, from start to finish, was an enriching experience. The presentation was beautiful, the interaction with the audience was very positive and genuine, and the content of the Tools for Life modules really touches both personally and professionally. The 19 Tools for Life modules you offer cover so many areas of life where we all need a helping hand. It is really impressive. I have never seen such a comprehensive approach like this before.

Ms Portia Ngamlana, Chief Education Specialist, Johannesburg West District Education Department said: “What we have learned today is that there are solutions and that something can indeed be done to improve the educational situation in the country. If we all work together in a coordinated way and push for the training to be implemented on a large scale, change will happen. It’s all about mindset and if there’s anything that strikes us today, it’s that it’s within our power to make this change.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers have also pledged that this Learner Support Professional Development Workshop for Educators and Parents is being delivered almost weekly and will continue to be delivered for as long as needed.

“The quality of your life depends on your ability to learn – L. Ron Hubbard, this quote inspires us to equip individuals with learning skills so that we can have a better and sustainable society. Our goal is the empowerment of everyone so that they better themselves, their families and their communities for the sake of a thriving and prosperous South Africa,” concludes Hlayisi.
