Mithun da’s enthusiasm still gives me goosebumps: Arjan Bajwa

Actor Arjan Bajwa who reunites with veteran star Mithun Chakraborty in the web series ‘Bestseller’ says the lead actor’s energy and enthusiasm is truly inspiring. Arjan told IANS: “One quality I’ve noticed about him is humility. superstar, a national award-winning actor and we all know the great dancer he was in his youth. He achieved everything what an actor wants…but on set he’s always on time and his enthusiasm is almost like a newcomer; like it’s his first movie. It just gives me goosebumps. I I think there’s a reason these actors become icons and it’s not just their talent and their luck. It has a lot to do with their humility and remaining the constant learner of their craft.”

He went on to add, “Once we are successful, we tend to think that we know everything and nothing can go wrong with anything we do. But when you look at an actor like Mithun da who is always ready to improvise. in a scene and switching things up without hesitation and mingling with us, his co-star like we were classmates, without keeping any seniority distance that says a lot about him.” The show ‘Bestseller’ is an adaptation of a book written by Ravi Subramanian, named ‘Bestseller She Wrote’. The show is directed by Mukul Abhyankar. Arjan previously worked with Mithun in director Mani Ratnam’s “Guru,” but he didn’t get much screen time with the veteran. However, the actor mentioned that this time he had a substantial amount.

Asked about the type of interaction he had with Mithun off-camera, Arjan said: “Mostly about his career, his debut and his films, his acting… our kind of conversation. Once I took a screenshot of one of his previous Panasonic India movie commercials and shared with him. He had an instant smile on his face and said to me, “Aareh! ye tujhe kahan se mil gaya, bahat purani baat hai yeh.” Then he told us how the Japanese company Panasonic came to India, met him and became the Panasonic India brand ambassador. He is a man very happy with a bright smile!” The ‘Bestseller’ show – also featuring Shruti Hassan, Gauahar Khan, Satyaje and Dubey among others – hits Prime Video on February 18.
