Principal Secretary for Higher Education hails progress made by J&K

Principal Secretary of Department of Higher Education Rohit Kansal said higher education institutions in Jammu and Kashmir are progressing rapidly and National Education Policy (NEP)-2022 has laid down a roadmap to develop these establishments in all areas.

Kansal made the comments while addressing a large gathering of students and faculty members after inaugurating state-of-the-art sports facilities including a volleyball complex, table tennis hall and gymnasium at the Government Srinagar College of Education.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Secretary commended the administration, staff and students of the college for achieving an “A” grade in the NAAC assessment and urged management to initiate the process of obtaining the autonomous status of the college.

He said that NEP-2020 mainly focuses on competency-based courses in higher education institutions and therefore maximum efforts should be made for launching various types of competency-based courses in the institution. .

Kansal called on the college management to maintain regular interactions with students on curriculum development and provide them with the opportunity to provide feedback on the quality of education as well as other aspects of the college.

Later, the principal secretary published several publications of the institution.
