Anyone hoping to choose and apply for a course starting in early 2022 will be happy to hear that the college offers courses in all four teaching departments: Business and Communities; Care, Sport and Construction; Creative industries, hospitality and tourism; and Engineering and Sciences.

Obtaining a place in an access course in January could lead to enrollment in a higher level course if successful, thus enhancing your career potential.

The college welcomes 13,500 students per academic session with 94 percent of learners progressing to further study or employment upon completion of their course – proof that taking a course here is a great starting point for a successful career.

A leader in science and technology

If you are interested in studying an engineering or science subject, the college is one of Scotland’s leading STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) colleges and is strategically linked to the Grangemouth Strip with its many strong industrial connections. . Their early January engineering courses include Newstart Construction & Engineering, which is aimed at learners who wish to experience a range of academic and vocational subjects while simultaneously improving their basic skills; Access to engineering and NC engineering systems are also open to applications that can provide you with a wide range of knowledge – preparing you for further study in a range of engineering fields including electrical, mechanics, fabrication and welding.

If science is more your thing, preparation for the job of a lab technician is also offered. This is a new course for 2022, where you have the opportunity to study units in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology – allowing you to explore what interests you most. Depending on your professional interests, after completing the course, you can then apply for a full-time course starting in August or get a job in a science-related industry.

Professional qualifications

Care, sport and construction courses are also available at their Falkirk and Alloa campuses and are arguably one of the best learning centers to be found in Scotland. Their early January classes include Newstart Care & Communities and Step into Early Learning and Childcare, with progression to further study in college education, youth work, and childcare.

If you’re an aspiring chef looking for a career in hospitality, their City & Guilds Professional Cooking Classes might be for you. Learn how to prepare and cook fish, meat, poultry and vegetables at their standard training restaurant on the Stirling campus.

Business courses are also offered in early 2022 at their Falkirk campus. The Newstart Business and Preparation for Employment (Business) courses are ideal if you want to pursue a career in business administration or finance. These courses can provide you with the basics if you want to take a full-time course from August 2022.

If you enjoy working with others and want to pursue a career in customer service, their employment preparation course is for you! Through this 14 week program, you will benefit from both theory and hands-on experience with a local employer in industries such as hospitality, retail or charity.
