Six months after the Tripura High Court ordered the regularization of Samagra Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers, the state government has yet to implement the Honb’le Court guidelines.

A case has been brought before the High Court of Tripura on behalf of the teachers on the issue of the regularization of teachers in the ASS. Hearing on the plea, the High Court ordered the Tripura government to regularize all education teachers by August 22.

“A delegation of teachers then met with Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath on August 20 and asked him to regularize them following the High Court verdict. The then Minister of Education assured us that the issue of SSA teachers would be discussed at the August 24 cabinet meeting, ”said SSA Head of Teachers Bhastab Debbarma.

However, the teachers of the 24e August 2021 found that the cabinet had not discussed the regularization of SSA education teachers.

“Disappointed, the teachers of ASS go home. We will not remain silent as long as we are regularized and the movement continues, ”said Bastab Debabarma.

He also asked Tripura’s Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath to clarify whether teachers would be regularized or not.

Earlier in March, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the High Court had ordered regular pay scales for all teachers in ASS. However, there will be no compromise on the issue of teaching qualifications.
